Designed for U11/13/15 players, our Dryland Agility, Plyometrics & Sports Conditioning Camp helps one build explosive power, gain lower body strength, prevent injuries, while enhancing one's fitness & stamina ==> all things required of a hockey player.
At this intensive, athletic OUTDOORS hockey camp, players will spend time working on AGILITY. Using speed parachutes, agility ladders, & hurdles, we will work with players to increase their footwork speed & acceleration. On ice, it translates to rapid directional change, helping players evade checks, outmaneuver opponents in fast-paced game situations.
PLYOMETRICS is crucial as it trains the nervous system to quickly produce force, which translates to faster explosive strides & quicker changes of direction. It also builds resilience in tendons and ligaments so one can safely absorb shock & reduce the risk of common lower-body injuries. Players will be using bungee resistance bands, medicine balls, plyometrics box, hand weights, weighted body bar & other equipment.
STRENGTH: Players will be shown exercises that improve overall upper & lower body strength, core stability & overall conditioning for game endurance.
It's not a camp unless there's Team Sports! These will be led by our Coaches to foster competitiveness, & wraps up with a fun ball hockey scrimmage.
Equipment: Bring your own CSA approved hockey helmet with face cage, hockey gloves and stick. Also bring a water bottle, and peanut-free, light snacks.
